Nineteen members from Immanuel Baptist Church, Glasgow, Ky spent their spring break vacation loving on the kids at the orphanage!  We didn’t have any major projects this week, but the ultimate goal was to spend this week hanging out with the kids and sharing God’s love with them.  It was a great blessing to be able to spend this entire week on the property.  Once we arrived, we didn’t leave until our last day.  This arrangement allowed us the ability to prepare all the meals for the kids and staff(breakfast, lunch and dinner).  Being able to provide the meals for them the whole week took a huge burden from the staff so that they could rest and devote their time to other chores/tasks.  Each afternoon, we presented a dramatized bible story to everyone including costumes and props.  It was fun and made it much more interesting for the kids.  Afterwards, we would have crafts and then organized games.  We had two movie nights and one night we built a bonfire and made smores.  One goal of ours is to help the orphanage become more self sustainable.  We have been encouraging and helping them is a variety of ways to meet this goal.  One way is by planting and sustaining gardens.  During this week, we were able to plant potatoes and corn.  The kids had fun helping us plant the vegetables.  It was a great week.  Sara from the orphanage was very appreciative to the team for all that we were able to do and most importantly…the time we spent with the children.  Thanks IBC for giving of your time and resources to be a blessing and encouragement to us and to our friends in Mexico.

31 “When the Son of Man comes in his glory, and all the angels with him, then he will sit on his glorious throne. 32 Before him will be gathered all the nations, and he will separate people one from another as a shepherd separates the sheep from the goats. 33 And he will place the sheep on his right, but the goats on the left. 34 Then the King will say to those on his right, ‘Come, you who are blessed by my Father, inherit the kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world. 35 For I was hungry and you gave me food, I was thirsty and you gave me drink, I was a stranger and you welcomed me, 36 I was naked and you clothed me, I was sick and you visited me, I was in prison and you came to me.’37 Then the righteous will answer him, saying, ‘Lord, when did we see you hungry and feed you, or thirsty and give you drink? 38 And when did we see you a stranger and welcome you, or naked and clothe you? 39 And when did we see you sick or in prison and visit you?’ 40 And the King will answer them, ‘Truly, I say to you, as you did it to one of the least of these my brothers, you did it to me.’ Matt 25:31-40
